We arrived out of the freezing cold rain into the sumptuous Egerton House Hotel, where the reception area had a wonderful blazing fire burning in the grate. We have stayed at The Egerton House a number of times in the past. The hotel has since been renovated to perfection and is now part of a small chain called Red Carnation.
