My wife and I stayed at this property for five nights just before Christmas. We've stayed at all inclusives in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Cozumel but this was our first time on the pacific side of Mexico. In our other trips we have stayed at Palace Resorts properties and this was our first time with Riu. We're not "members"... more

We are not new to the all-inclusives, this one definitely is a cut above. We loved the buffets. Let me repeat, we loved the buffets, even more than the specialty restaurants. The Sports Bar was a bit "sterile" looking, not to mention very bright, but it was nice to have and they made an awesome Margarita. The hotel amenities have... more

We have just returned from a week at the Pacifico. Great hotel- efficient staff that always tried to please. Food was "all inclusive" plentiful and fresh. Rooms were sparkling clean. The grounds were very nice and the beach was beautiful. Beach and pool chairs were always available as were towels. The pool was heated. Pool and beach drink service were... more

We've been to Riu all-inclusive resorts in the past and enjoyed them immensely. We enjoyed this one even more. The rooms, restaurants, etc, were the same great quality as a regular Riu. However, at the Palace Pacifico the pool was heated, which made a huge difference to us. At other pools in the winter (even Mexico or the Caribbean) it... more

We just returned from the RIU Palace Pacifico and we had the best vacation ever. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were friendly and accommodating, the grounds were kept exceptionally clean and the pool area was large and wonderful. The beach area was clean and open with miles of beach to walk up and down. The ocean was warm and... more

We just returned from 5 days at the new RIU Palace. Had traveled to some very remarkable resorts in Mexico, Bahamas, and Hawaii, and went in expecting a great experience. Overall, we were very pleased, with a few concerns. We arrived late due to an airline mechanical, and at check in, we did not have the best experience. It took... more

Just got back from staying at the Palace from 12/19 - 12/23. I would agree with all of the positive comments - it is an exceptional facility; well appointed rooms; immaculate; and very relaxing! Even the "cheap" garden view rooms have a view of the ocean. Our only issue is the reservation process for the restaurants. We had our orientation... more

We just got back from Puerto Vallarta where we had a fabulous time. We booked our vacation thru Apple vacations. Dec 19-26th, direct flight to Puerto Vallarta from the frozen/cold Chicago. We paid for an upgrade to ocean view. Total cost for 7 nights aprox. $1600. PROS ***Very nice hotel rooms - decor, size and layout. ***The entire hotel was... more

Just returned from vacation at RIU Palace. The place was clean, service was excellent. I agree about boring entertainment, they should hire professionals. Food was exceptional. One note to people who were annoyed by screaming children - pay extra and stay at the "ADULT ONLY" resorts. I traveled with my two children (10 and 7 year old), who behave just... more

After travelling to two previous Riu resorts, I knew what to expect with this quality chain. What I experienced at the Riu Palace Pacifico exceeded my expectations. We just got back, staying at the Palace from December 12th to the 19th, 2008. I had read the reviews prior to going and was prepared to experience a busy weekend that would... more
